The American Academy of Private Physicians (AAPP) is hosting its 2014 Spring Summit on Concierge / Direct Primary Care Medicine in New Orleans on February 21-22nd at The Hotel Monteleone.

The AAPP will have a variety of panels covering topics such as, legal issues, conversion specialists, as well as a private physician panel discussing where their journey started and how they ended up in their specific model of private medicine.

Brian Forrest, M.D., didn’t want to practice family medicine in a system where receptionists ask “Who’s your insurance provider?” before asking “Why do you need to see the doctor?” but instead of leaving the system, he changed it, and the result is a cash-only, no-insurance practice that earns more and charges far less than the traditional model.

Serving as our keynote speaker on Friday morning, Dr. Forrest will discuss “The Rise of the Direct Primary Care (DPC) Movement”

aapp concierge medicine today conference“While the AAPP meetings have been focused on concierge medicine in the past, this year they have broadened the content of their meeting to specifically address Direct Primary Care. DPC represents an important part of private medicine and shares the goals of making the priority of health care the physician/patient relationship, rather than the insurer/doctor relationship.”

Are you considering getting into private medicine and having a direct cash relationship w/ your patients?  We will have a “Practice Formation Considerations” track.  Covering topics you will need to take into account as you make your conversion into private medicine.

Are you a medical student?

In support of educating our medical students we have a special student rate for medical students.  Please call to inquire 877-746-7301.

AAPP’s President Dr. Matt Priddy of Indianapolis, IN
