How is concierge medical care different from a traditional primary care, family medicine or internal medicine physician office?

In a traditional family medicine or general/internal medicine practice, physicians usually have 2,000 to 5,000 or more patients on their patient rosters. In a concierge medicine practice (typically located in the exact same location as where your doctor was before), the number of patients in the practice is between 150 to 700 patients. By reducing the number of patients a doctor treats, they are now able to spend more time with each patient. This ultimately improves access to your doctor.
Many times, appointments are scheduled on the same day and there is typically no waiting in an exam room or lobby at these practices. Appointments usually last much longer with the majority being 30-90 minutes, according to www.ConciergeMedicineToday.com. Therefore, your medical issues can be addressed more thoroughly and ensures that your questions can be answered.
