ACPP is a brand new professional society with ambitious goals. We will bring together concierge and direct practice physicians, credential and showcase them so that the shopping public can find on our web site the design and details of each practice and be assured the practice has been vetted as accurately as possible. We expect active membership in ACPP to become the “Underwriter’s Laboratory” mark of confidence for shoppers. Patients and others interested in choosing concierge and direct practices will be able to determine how many patients the practice accepts per physician, the cost of the practice, the credentials of the physicians and staff, the services provided as well as whatever other information the practice feels would be of interest to the shopping public. We have brought together a talented team to accomplish these goals headed by William Ross our CEO who is highly experienced at physician credentialing.
ACPP will build a lobbying voice at local, state and federal levels and seek to protect and promote the direct practice mode from whatever threat may come our way. Periodic educational meetings are planned. Discount programs for services will be offered that you as a private physician need, and which may save you more than the cost of membership.
The Steering Committee of ACPP consists of experienced, successful, early adopters of concierge and direct practice, but ACPP does not act as a conversion company. Our active members are limited to doctors already successfully walking the walk not just talking the talk of direct practice. We hope you agree that the time has come for the birth and rapid growth of such a professional society.
At this meeting an official board of directors will be elected from and by our membership. We hope many of you will also be interested in participation at that democratic governing process.
You will not want to miss this launch of ACPP. We look forward to seeing and meeting you. There is nothing quite like a gathering of happy doctors in this day and age.
Thomas W. LaGrelius, MD, FAAFP
Chair, Steering Committee, ACPP
